Ban appeal for being a radical cake

Okay so I'm back again cause i thought i could bring about change by being a radical retard and taking the rules literally word for word and then making a base based on that. I apologise for that, it was impatient and ignorant of me to think that doing something stupid like that would bring about change faster when i know very little about what goes on behind the scenes of the server and how much work people might already be putting into it to make it better. I did not think to read deeper into the rules or question if they might mean more than just the two lines stated on the website, it was silly of me to think that there wasn't more to them than that and that by taking them literally i might make cause to elaborate on them when all i needed was to ask. I know now that change takes time and that i can't force it just because i want it by being radical in my gameplay on the server and that in turn just ruins others gameplay. I hope to be unbanned and this time be ore patient to watch the server grow and to be more considerate of others gameplay and not ruin there's in a silly attempt to better gameplay overall as if it could happen over night. Thank you for your time... again, and sorry for having wasted it... again. I will do my best to be more level headed and patient in future and just not retarded in general.

Yeah no.

The staff's team patience with you has run out. Your apologies don't mean anything if you don't change the way you act. You get unbanned just to do the same thing a week later. You will not be getting unbanned.

Brune, seriously..what do/did you expect.

You have been looking for trouble all the time. We tried to explain to you we are not running a courthouse and our 'legislation' reflects that we are a game server.

Nylex and the admins told you many times to use your comon sense but you choose to be an obnoxious ass wasting our time again and again.

You even tried to actively  influence new players with your interpretation of the 'active base' rule causing more trouble.

If you get off being picky about how rules are written and interpreted go study law, dont waste our time.

big NO from me.

You know i didn't start the active base rule thing right? I hopped on that band wagon cause some dude kosed me and then started saying "nah ah it was an active base" and when i got kosed again whilst building nylex said the moment you start building its active. I made this apology because i was told it had a better chance because you seem to have a hard time accepting constructive criticism. I don't need to argue your rules like its a court house to try and loophole them because if you read them plain and simply and if a player follows directly word for word with no outside knowledge then in terms of what happened i did nothing wrong, and if you try to counter that with the oh but its common sense i will just counter with being told yes when asking if it was common sense to follow the rules i have access to as they are written. It would be both logical and common sense to base actions off of the physical evidence made available to me by those in charge with specific regards to the matter rather than anything my mind may conquer as that would be based solely off of my thoughts/opinions regarding what is right or wrong. So if it is still wrong when the actions taken are taken according to your guidelines then they are clearly flawed, I will sum it up in one quote from the rules, "When is KOS ok?
Aside from the types of scenarios listed above, there are only 3 places where KOS is completely allowed with no limits on our servers:". It is extremely flawed to tell someone there are no limits in a rule/scenario and then ban them for limits imposed upon it from your "common sense" with the idea that simply because it occurred to you it should have occurred to them as well. If you are going to ban me for breaking a rule at least make it one i could have known i was breaking rather than one you believe i should have known because you did, especially considering that i am not an admin and don't have to deal with rules all the time so what perhaps occurs to you from countless experiences of rule breaking has a very slim chance of occuring to me when i have already existing rules (that tells me its okay) to base my thoughts off of.

So, you are banning me for breaking a rule i had no certainty of existing, whilst following a clear pre-existing rule in context of the situation.

Logic 100.

Saying you didn't know is complete bullshit when quite literally, you have been told by numerous admins "Not to build near SZ or use outward facing sentries." AND your last ban was because you made a "base" with the intent on using sentries to KOS people who just happen to be walking by. Which is the same reasoning why you are being banned now. So this "I didn't know" excuse is BS.

On top of this, you are one of the most entitled, toxic, and two-faced dude the staff team have ever met. I'm not going to explain why, if you can't figure that on your own then you must be stupid. We don't need that type of person in our server.

You have been given multiple unbans and yet still manage to fuck it up. So no, you will not be unbanned. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(This thing came out so much longer than expected cause I like giving context, I'm very sorry for that, if it's too long I would be happy to try summarise it to any person of authority on the discord)

I wrote a prior piece in an attempt to try simplify it for you to understand Fish but then it got super long (and rude) so I'm rewriting it now so if some things seem to be lacking context or explanation i saved the longer one, it would be much quicker to explain the just of it in discord if you don't want to read it though. (it may likely still sound arrogant and rude at parts)

First, I just want to say please highlight in my reply me saying "I didn't know". I understand the wording seems like what I'm trying to say is an exaggerated way of saying, "I didn't know" but what I'm trying to say is that as a player when I read a rule on the official website that says, "allowed with no limits" in regards to kos at active bases, I take it quite literally because as a player I do not see myself as having the freedom to elaborate on the rules or interpret them how I choose because I didn't write them and I don't enforce them.

Now I understand that this ban isn't just because of the one incident but because you think I flagrantly violated the rules in a similar fashion to that which I was previously banned for (and cause I annoy the admins) and that this was done on purpose because in your eyes I should have come to the conclusion that is was against the rules using common sense. However I have tried to summarise why I didn't and that these violations were not a continued malicious streak with ill intent as several of the first were my first encounters with the rules of that kind.

I also wish to address your statements of, "told by numerous admins "Not to build near SZ or use outward facing sentries." and " "base" ".

I will try to do that quickly here but more so in general throughout this reply.

Yes I was told not to build near sz when i built that first large structure because it was inconsiderate to other players. However when i ask justin for clarity on whether i could build the alchemy shop he said, "do whatever" so I took that as a yes and the shop was small. When i built the cave base I again thought it was fine cause not only had it been built in before but it was still further than those on the hill and the structure was hidden from other players sight until i built the garage (which was still smaller than some hill bases). After it got raided and wiped cause it was raided I asked Bob if it was cause it had broken any rules and received a statement along the lines of, I never said it broke any rules. So after hearing that I took that as while not being a comfortable distance for the admins to deal with  (like the hills bases) it wasn't exactly rule breaking. So when building all the way at Berezino I was most certain that i was not building anywhere near the sz as the distance was easily 5x larger than anything previously and it did not impede people entering the city or looting it. That deals with the building near sz part of it, now the turret part.

I know this sounds like BS but I honest to god have no recollection of ever having an admin tell me not to put turrets facing outwards so if you could find a clip or conversation or even logs in which i was present when it was said to enforce your point, that would be appreciated because if a players word is not enough to convict someone of rule breaking (such as kos) for a ban,  I don't see why an Admins shouldn't be treated the same way.

For the sentry part of the statement and being told not to place them outwards we have to go back before the cave base to when i was banned for placing turrets in a tree before I began to build and as I began to build two people approached on a quad and were killed by them before i had time to react and turn them off, I was also killed before they were and could do nothing to stop their deaths after that point. I was promptly banned after this (to my recollection)  without being given an explanation or being told an appropriate way to place turret despite asking to speak briefly in the discord to explain or get an answer. I was later unbanned after apologising and very helpfully being told by Nylex to read the rules and that Turrets kosed on behalf of players, which i previously didn't know as it isn't in thee website rules. I also then after this actually sent Nylex a small rule set with no more than 3 two line points for each turret type that could be used to avoid such confusion in future if you chose to add something like it to the rules. Again from what i can remember all i was told was that they kos on your behalf not how they could be placed.

Shortly after this is when someone was kosed and the quote of the rules with kos being acceptable at active bases came up and everyone began to simply kos people at their bases (the first of whom was bares/nuts group) and with no amending of the rules seemed to me and others to now be an accepted part meant to allow for more pvp and base security on the server. I was then killed while building by Barewithme, unsure of whether it was kos or not because i did not know what counted as an active base i asked nylex (along with various other questions) to which he replied, "yes, don't wanna split rules, it counts". I think that quote along adequately justifies what i built as an active "base" as it had beds, doors and storage. (none of which the building i had been building had).

Now that you understand why I considered it an active base and active bases to have kos zones, lets look at the turrets. As I already said when building and re-building it I had no recollection of ever being told which way the turrets had to face (nor the radius of kos around bases, i had heard others say it was 200m). So when i actually managed to build the base this time after the ban I thought, "okay, official base, I and others can die here". Then some people died to the turrets despite majority of the time being verbally warned they were there and having put up signs. Some didn't take kindly to this, others came back to raid and pvp and both sides took deaths in this time and it was enjoyable pvp to my understanding. None the less kos was called and admin came, the admin in paticular being bob and after telling him i had asked what counted as an active base/kos zone (and having no memory of turret direction warnings) and built within the limits of it. I was told by bob that there had many reports and that the admins were discussing it, so I waited to hear the outcome whether it was or wasn't against the rules and after a few hours with no response determined (common sense) that if I had not been gotten back to with any warnings that it was indeed within the limits of the rules. I picked up the turrets before going offline, died with them on me and went to bed leaving the base to be raided, so all the loot went back into the server including the turrets.

Skip a few days and i decide to rebuild the base for more raid defence having still not been contacted or given any warning by Bob or another admin. I do this when the server is a little less busy and its getting late in my timezone. (still no memory of turret warnings other than kos on my behalf). i finally finish the base with beds, storage, lights, a claim flag and of course turrets for defence facing outwards but still inside, again not impeding entry into the city but only managing to get down one sign this time. Several people enter the city and I warn away some of the curious ones who came to look at the base before they get shot by turrets. Now just for some background knowledge I play on a 4mb line with 200-300 ping, and ask anyone i have played with it is notorious for disconnecting every few minutes at certain times and sometimes leaves me unable to join for more than an hour because my ping increases upwards of 600. (fair use policy also means if i use a lot of internet they will slow its speed). So it was getting late and i decide it probably time to pack it in and go to bed but before i can pick up the turrets as i usually do before i go off because they are a pain to make but easy to break my connection has a fit. Now i actually thought to myself at this point that i needed to get back on to pick up the turrets cause if i leave them on someone might have a fit if they die to it and its kinda a dick move. I tried for at least an hour to reconnect, restarted my modem and game several times but at 1 am decided to give up cause I could barely keep my eyes open and all i could think was, "fuck it, there's a sign surely people won't go close to it and if they do and die they can just get an mvp or geared player to snipe out the turrets and i can just remake them another day".

The next morning I come to play, realise I'm banned and think, "fuck me dead, I'm clairvoyant". I knew it was probably fish who banned me based on the time zones and because fish is fish. So I message justin not wanting to wake up another admin cause again time zones, and that pretty much went to a pile of shit after the first reply i get when asking for a bit of clarity is, "are you retarded". Baring in mind I still had and have no memory of being told what direction the turrets had to face and only that an active base is a kos zone and turrets kos on your behalf. Now this is where it is said that common sense should have told me they shouldn't face outwards but when comparing it in my head and having no examples of being told what direction against having several stating an active base is a kos zone, turrets kos on your behalf, having not been contacted or warned about the same thing from a few days prior and reading in on the site that an active base is 1 of 3 zones in which kos can occur with no limits, It seemed to make a lot more sense that it was allowed rather than it wasn't. So if you have made it this far and have managed to form at least some picture of what was going through my head you might understand that i thought what i was doing was by all means acceptable and just a good way to get some pvp and online raids going and that I never intended for it to kill people while i wasn't there to warn them and tried to for quite a while to get back on to stop it from doing so.

Lastly, I wouldn't quite describe myself as toxic in the more general meaning of the term and I'm not sure what part was two-faced but I could most definitely agree that I am arrogant, hot headed, rude, stubborn, don't take well to authority (i have a history of this it's not just you) and yes probably a bit entitled in general from being raised a middle class citizen in a largely impoverished country.

I'm so sorry this is so long I honest to god meant for it to be short but i really like giving context so I don't seem as brash while trying to explain. Some points may seem a little repetitive as i have a hard time focusing but I think I more or less covered everything in enough detail.

NB. although I doubt bob made it this far if you did mate I have to let you know that if you aren't reading the things it's like you're commenting on a sports match you never even watched which mildly discredits the comment itself.

By taking things literally?? when someone says don't steal they mean don't steal, or don't do this, that or the next thing they generally mean it literally most rules/instruction are meant to be literal otherwise it would be complicated to follow them. I mean just look at laws, when they say don't kill other people they quite literally mean don't kill them, not interpret it however you want if you think we weren't being literal.

I don't take EVERYTHING as literal but most simple rules tend to be literal and not up for interpretation.

I know the server rules aren't laws so I'm just using this to illustrate what I am trying to say.

The plain meaning rule dictates that statutes are to be interpreted using the ordinary meaning of the language of the statute. In other words, a statute is to be read word for word and is to be interpreted according to the ordinary meaning of the language, unless a statute explicitly defines some of its terms otherwise or unless the result would be cruel or absurd. Ordinary words are given their ordinary meaning, technical terms are given their technical meaning, and local, cultural terms are recognized as applicable. The plain meaning rule is the mechanism that prevents courts from taking sides in legislative or political issues.
