After the collapse of The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics Dimitri found himself becoming a guide for a nearby forest seeing how he had known the area well
He always traveled the same route every day. He made a business out of guiding people through this treacherous landscape.

When the virus hit he was halfway through guiding a couple of tourists through the forest. A couple of people were just standing in the path and he knew something wasn't right so he pulled out his sidearm and went to investigate.He told the couple that were with him to stay put and then the most unexpected thing happened the people standing in the road charged at him Mouths open and foaming. He raised his gun and fired multiple times killing the group of people in the path. He inspected the bodies and all of them had bite marks. He told the couple to follow him and they went to the nearest police station and nobody was to be found the whole city of Chernarus was quiet. He looked around the police station and found a radio he heard gunshots off in the distance followed by commands being yelled into the radio calling for airstrikes on nearby targets. While he was inside the police station a mortar round came down and killed the couple. He knew he was on his own now Ever since then he has been scouring the area looking for something to call home.
